Local Professional Development Committee - My Learning Plan

In the spring of 2006, the Delaware-Union ESC adopted MyLearningPlan as the official tool used by the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). MyLearningPlan is a web-based professional development system that allows employees of the ESC to create their Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP), track their continuing education credits, view an electronic professional development calendar and enroll in an assortment of professional development workshops and conferences sponsored by the DUESC. ESC certified staff members can maintain all records with an authorized account name at the official Delaware-Union ESC Local Professional Development Committee website, www.mylearningplan.com.

All ESC certified staff members who are employed under a professional license must submit an IPDP by November 1 of the year in which they are employed. The IPDP must be created in MyLearningPlan as part of the certified employee’s obligation to maintain an Ohio Department of Education or Ohio board license during their time of service with the agency.

Ohio Department of Education licensure requirements call for the completion of a minimum of 180 contact hours (18 continuing education units) to renew a professional credential. If the employee complies with creating and managing all professional development activities attended during a licensing cycle, MyLearningPlan will maintain a transcript of such activity and present the activities in a contact hour format.

New certified employees will be invited to an orientation session for MyLearningPlan soon after their employment. This training session for new certified employees will be conducted with the expectation that an IPDP will be filed with the LPDC by November 1 of the year in which an individual is employed.
